IS Skydiving SAFE?
Skydiving does have inherent dangers, but tandem skydiving is by far the safest form of skydiving that exists today. Every instructor at Skydive Golden Gate has made thousands of skydives and has spent years as a practicing professional tandem instructor. We do everything in our power to ensure a safe and fun skydive for every customer.
What should i wear to go skydiving?
Wear something comfortable. We recommend jeans or athletic wear, long sleeves in the winter, and athletic shoes (no flip flops, heels, boots, etc). Northern California has a mild climate, but it’s wise to dress for the season.
Will i wear goggles during my skydive?
Yes. Your instructor will put your goggles on one minute before exiting the plane. No need to wear them during the flight. They'll just fog up.
can i skydive with my glasses?
Yes you can! Our goggles will fit over your glasses. We wouldn’t want you to miss those stunning Bay Area views.
DO I NEED TO FILL OUT ANY PAPERWORK to go skydiving?
Yes, you will fill out a waiver when you arrive at Skydive Golden Gate. A member of our staff will sign off as a witness to you signing the waiver. All skydivers will need to fill out the waiver in its entirety. This is a requirement of all skydive centers.
will i get any training or instruction before my skydive?
Yes, of course. Your instructor will answer all your questions and instruct you on everything you need to know to safely complete your skydive.
how much does it cost to go skydiving in california?
A tandem skydive costs $249 Photo or video costs $80, but buy both and you'll get the second one half off. Both video and photo are $120. Groups of 6 or more will enjoy $10 off each skydive.
IS THERE A CANCELLATION FEE?
We understand things happen. If you are unable to make it for your skydive, please contact us as soon as possible. If you cancel more than 48 hours prior to your skydive, your card will not be charged. For a cancellation within 48 hours, but more than 24 hours in advance of your booking, you will be charged a cancellation fee of $50 per person. If you cancel within 24 hours of your skydive, you will be charged the full price of your skydive: $259 per person.
how long does the skydive take?
Groups of 1-2 should allow two hours for the whole experience, from your appointment time until you walk out the door. Add approximately 15 minutes for each additional person in your group.
how old do i have to be to go skydiving?
Everyone in America must be at least 18 years old to skydive. This is a federal rule, not our rule. Everyone should bring a valid ID, such as a driver's license or passport.
is there a weight limit to go skydiving?
Please contact us if you weigh over 240lbs. There is a fee of $1 per pound for anything over 200lbs. This is a standard charge in the industry, and 100% of overage fees go directly to the instructor.
Do i need an appointment to go skydiving?
Appointments are required. You can make an appointment by booking online or calling us at 415-770-4011. You can also call to check for last minute availability.
what if the weather forecast looks bad?
Fortunately, the San Francisco Bay Area has a lot of warm, sunny days. But we cannot control the weather. We wish we could. Skydiving is weather dependent, so if you have any concerns about the weather, please call us.
can i have a drink to take the edge off before my jump?
Absolutely not! Skydiving and alcohol/drugs do not mix. Absolutely no drugs or alcohol may be consumed within eight hours of your skydive. Anyone who does not adhere to this policy will not be permitted to skydive.
